Method
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x5 inch loaf pan.
- Mash bananas, add applesauce, honey/maple syrup, vanilla, and egg. Mix well.
- Whisk flour, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt in a separate bowl.
- Gradually add dry ingredients to wet, mixing until just combined.
- Fold in chopped nuts, if using.
- Pour batter into the prepared loaf pan.
- Bake for 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Cool in pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
For extra flavor, try adding chocolate chips or dried fruit.
