- Brown the ground beef or lamb in a skillet. Drain excess grease.
- Add onion and garlic; cook until softened.
- Transfer meat mixture to a slow cooker.
- Stir in vegetables, soup, broth, Worcestershire sauce, and thyme. Season with salt and pepper.
- Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 3-4 hours.
- Prepare mashed potatoes. Mix in butter and milk.
- Spread mashed potatoes over the meat mixture.
- Cover and cook on high for 30 minutes to heat potatoes.
- Serve hot.
Notes
For a richer flavor, use lamb instead of beef. You can also add a layer of cheese under the mashed potatoes.
