- Sprinkle flour over vegetables and cook for 1 minute, stirring.
- Whisk in chicken broth, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper; simmer until thickened.
- Stir in shredded chicken.
- Combine mashed potatoes with butter and milk/cream; season.
- Pour chicken mixture into a baking dish.
- Spread mashed potatoes over the chicken mixture.
- Sprinkle with cheddar cheese, if desired.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
- Let stand for 5-10 minutes before serving.
Notes
For a richer flavor, use homemade chicken broth. You can also add other vegetables like mushrooms or green beans.
