Method
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 4-qt casserole dish.
- Peel, boil, and mash sweet potatoes until smooth. Mix in sugar, milk, butter, vanilla, eggs, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg, and orange zest. Spread into dish.
- Combine brown sugar, flour, melted butter, and pecans. Sprinkle evenly on top.
- Bake uncovered for 55–60 minutes until bubbly and golden. In the last 10 mins, add mini marshmallows if desired.
Notes
For a more festive touch, add mini marshmallows during the last 10 minutes of baking.
