Method
- Dry bread cubes for 48 hours or in a 250°F oven for 20-30 minutes.
- Melt butter and sauté celery and onion until tender, about 10-12 minutes.
- Mix bread cubes with sautéed vegetables, then add salt, pepper, poultry seasoning, chicken stock, and eggs. Stir well.
- Transfer mixture to a greased 9×13-inch dish and bake at 350°F for 30-35 minutes until golden.
- Garnish with herbs if desired and serve warm.
Notes
For best flavor, dry the bread cubes a day ahead.
