Bananas
  • 1 cup ripe bananas, mashed about 2-3 bananas
Sourdough Starter
  • 1/2 cup sourdough starter (active and bubbly)
Butter
  • 1/3 cup melted butter
Sugars
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
Eggs
  • 2 large eggs
Vanilla Extract
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Baking Soda
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
Salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
Flour
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
Chocolate Chips
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a loaf pan.
  2. Mix mashed bananas, sourdough starter, melted butter, sugars, eggs, and vanilla until combined.
  3. Whisk baking soda, salt, and flour; add to wet ingredients, stir until just combined.
  4. Gently fold in chocolate chips, pour into pan, and smooth top.
  5. Bake for 60-70 minutes, cool in pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to wire rack.

Notes

Use ripe bananas for best flavor and mash well for even mixing.
