Ingredients

  • 3 to 4 pieces ripe bananas, mashed
  • 1/2 cup melted butter
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts or pecans (optional)

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Prepare a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
  2. Mash bananas, mix with melted butter, sugar, eggs, and vanilla. Combine dry ingredients separately.
  3. Gradually fold dry ingredients into wet mixture. Add nuts if desired. Pour into pan.
  4. Bake for 55-65 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean. Cool before slicing.

Notes

Use ripe bananas for best flavor and sweetness.
